• Lead and manage all editorial efforts for Yahoo Sports direct-to-consumer / subscription platforms (Rivals.com)

NBC Sports Regional Networks, Stamford, CT | Jan ’14 to April ‘17

General Manager in charge of future-proofing the regional digital business for the NBC Sports Group. Dual-reported to the Head of NBC Sports / Olympics Digital and Regional Networks President and directly supervised a team of 70 digital journalists, sales executives, product, and marketing professionals. Managed and maintained a $25MM annual operating budget, including strategic modeling, quarterly reviews, and long-range planning. 

Accomplishments:

  • Held full ownership of digital editorial, marketing, audience engagement, technical and product development for 7 local television networks, reaching over 50 million monthly multichannel users.

  • Successfully launched the company’s first local ad supported and authenticated subscriber live streaming experience for MLB, NHL, and NBA telecasts.

  • Grew NBC Sports’ multiplatform audience by 300% year-over-year by developing unique content experiences for fans.

  • Owned agency and internal marketing campaigns focused on the customer lifecycle journey, enabling data-driven decisions on editorial programming and production.

  • Led all networks through 3 brand refreshes, co-opting talents of our viewers, advertisers, distributors and teams.

Oversaw consumer engagement and editorial for Comcast SportsNet, home of my hometown A’s, Giants, Warriors and Sharks. 

  • Managed a $3.6M budget and hired/managed a staff of 17 on-air reporters, multiplatform content producers, digital video editors, and sales executives, surpassing revenue and audience targets by 200%.

  • Developed CSN Bay Area’s first online strategy, editorial calendar and all media partnerships, including the debut of “Yahoo! Sports Talk Live”, the Bay Area’s first interactive television program.

  • Led all outbound and internal marketing initiatives with Comcast, Facebook, Twitter, Vox Media, Yahoo, and local radio, newspaper, and transit providers.

  • Launched CSNBayArea.com, the network’s first digital presence with a $10K budget, tasked with shifting CSN Bay Area’s “viewers” into an “audience” through digital technologies to secure multiplatform sponsorships and drive ratings.

  • Developed and owned CSN Bay Area’s primary brand marketing campaign (“Authentic Bay Area Sports”).

  • Managed agency partner relationship (BBDO SF) and all trade, consumer, and advertiser promotions.

  • Built lasting community initiatives including “Stay in School Challenge” and “All Star Teacher” to honor local educators through a $10K grant.
